NAI West Michigan currently manages 1.5 million square feet comprised of 45 properties with over 220 tenants. This represents a very diverse group of commercial and industrial properties in the West Michigan area.

Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®)
The Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM®) has been the source for education, resources, information and membership for real estate management professionals for over 70 years. An affiliate of the National Association of Realtors®, IREM is the only professional real estate management association serving both the multi-family and commercial real estate sectors. With 81 U.S. chapters, eight international chapters, and several other partnerships around the globe, IREM is an international organization that serves as a major advocate on issues affecting property owners and the real estate management industry.
Certified Property Manager, (CPM) Receiving the CPM® Designation from IREM is the equivalent of receiving a Masters Degree in property management. The following is a highlight of the requirements.
- Education - though IREM courses, through other organizations, through academic achievement (several hundred hours)
- Experience - minimum of 36 months of qualifying real estate management experience
- Ethics - promise to uphold the IREM Code of Professional Ethics and pass the IREM ethics course
- Examination - show competency in all aspects of real estate management by passing a certification exam. In addition, demonstrate the practical application of all that has been learned on the job and in the classroom through a written management plan.
BOMA International
BOMA International was founded in 1907 as the National Association of Building Owners and Managers. The association assumed its present name in 1968 as it broadened its reach to include Canada and other affiliates around the globe. Today, BOMA International represents 91 local associations throughout the United States and ten affiliates in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, the Philippines(2) and South Africa. BOMA's 16,500-plus members own or manage more than nine billion square feet of commercial properties in North America.
BOMA International is a primary source of information on office building development, leasing, building operating costs, energy consumption patterns, local and national building codes, legislation, occupancy statistics and technological developments.
As a service to it clients, NAI West Michigan strongly supports both IREM and BOMA as they are the voice of building owners in Washington.
